RECIPE PREPARATION Baked garlic potatoes:

Peeled potatoes are boiled in cold water. When it boils, leave it for ten minutes, take it out and leave it to cool a bit.

Ingredients:

  • 2 kg of potatoes preferable for the oven, those a little bigger than chicken eggs
  • 100 ml vegetable oil with neutral taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon grated salt
  • Pepper to taste

Method of preparation:

We peel the potatoes, wash them, cut them in half and wash them again. Drain the water well from them and cover them in a kitchen towel until they remain dry on the surface.

Put the potatoes in a bowl and add the spices, oil and mix well. Cover the bowl with cling film and set aside for 30 minutes, stirring a few more times.

Put the potatoes on a baking paper tray with the cut side up and put them in the oven for 30-35 minutes or until nicely browned.

They are ready to serve with what you like, I served them with cheddar sauce but also with baked meatballs in mustard sauce. From here I wish you good work and good appetite!

  • 1 kg of new potatoes (1.14 kg. I used)
  • 2- 4 cloves of garlic (depending on how big they are and how much you like garlic)
  • 2-3 sprigs of fresh rosemary
  • 30 ml. olive oil and pepper to taste

How to peel new potatoes?

Many people prepare new potatoes with their skins. If you prefer them that way, all you have to do is wash them very well. You can then use them in your preparations. If, however, you prefer to be cleaned of the skin on the surface, here are some tricks that could be useful:

  1. Under a stream of cold water, rub the new potatoes with a clean (new) dish sponge. The thin skin on the surface will disappear as if by magic.
  2. Wash the new potatoes well. While they are wet, rub them all over the surface with coarse salt. The skin on the surface will be removed.
  3. The abrasive wire sponge is also very effective, we just have to handle it gently, otherwise it will scratch the potatoes on the surface.

Preparing potatoes

1. After we have cleaned / washed well and wilted the potatoes, we remove the rosemary leaves from the stem. We chop them finely. I also kept a few small twigs, which I put on top when I put the potatoes in the oven. Peel the garlic and slice it into thin slices or crush it, if you prefer. We can now also start the oven, setting it at 200 ° C or 190 ° C with ventilation.

2. It is important to cut the potatoes into equal pieces. Thus, they will penetrate at the same time during cooking. We will not end up with red and well-cooked potatoes mixed with larger pieces left raw. So, the small potatoes are left whole, the larger ones are cut in halves, the big ones in 6-8 pieces. The volume of the potato pieces should be approximately equal.

3. Choose a suitable dish for the oven, add the garlic and rosemary. Pour the olive oil on top.

4. Season in abundance with salt and pepper. Do not skimp on the seasoning, potatoes need salt because otherwise they will be phased. Mix well, so that the flavors and oil reach each piece.

Baking

5. Put the potatoes in the oven already heated to 200 ° C or 190 ° C with ventilation, where they will remain for 35 & # 8211 45 minutes. Depending on the size of the pieces, but also on the variety of potatoes, some are harder to cook than others. Halfway through the cooking time, I mixed it once with the spatula, bringing to the surface the pieces of potatoes from the bottom of the pot and then I let them continue to cook.

6. After exactly 43 minutes (in my case), the new potatoes with rosemary and garlic were exactly to my taste: tender and soft on the inside, reddish and crunchy on the outside and absolutely delicious.

For these crispy potatoes with garlic sauce I made an aromatic oil with many aromatic herbs. I used Spornic Omega 9 oil, the only 100% high oleic oil in Romania. It is a healthier oil because it has a large amount of omega 9 oleic acid, beneficial in the diet. I added a lot of herbs, oil and I crushed everything very well. I put boiled and crushed potatoes in this oil. I then put them in the oven to become as crispy and fragrant as possible. By crushing the potatoes become flat and have a larger surface that becomes crispy in the oven. Use small potatoes because they crush more easily and keep their shape better.

We really liked these crispy potatoes with garlic sauce and we even promised to make them on other occasions. I was very pleased with the fasting garlic sauce because I usually prepared it differently and added sour cream to it. This recipe goes perfectly with a salad or as a garnish for meat or fish. You can use it for any type of meat, for seafood or fish. It is also loved by children and is even healthier considering that we do not fry potatoes in an oil bath, but in the oven. I poured the soup into the pan, from the edges, so as not to remove the oregano or the garlic stuck to the potatoes. I tilted the tray so that the liquid flowed in the center of the tray. After 10 minutes I turned them to brown evenly.

If the oven does not have high power, it is possible to leave them for 50-60 minutes or until there is no liquid left in the tray.

During this time I also prepared the sauce.

I put the yogurt in a bowl. I chopped the dill and put it over the yogurt. I crushed the feta cheese in my hand, I put it in the bowl, then I mixed trying to grind the cheese as much as possible. If you want you can also put a clove of garlic given by the press.

When the potatoes were cooked, I took them out and ate them with feta sauce and a lettuce.

The first time we place the potatoes in the tray that we will put in the oven.

I placed a bed of potatoes on the bottom of the tray, I cut the slices. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.

We also salt the fish pieces, we add twice as much salt as we take with two fingers and as much pepper as we take with three fingers.

Place the fish over the potatoes, and sprinkle the green garlic on top, put a little under the fish pieces.

We pour the wine into the tray. We put the butter on top of the fish pieces.

We put the tray in the oven, at a temperature of 200-220 degrees Celsius, in the electric ovens, medium to maximum fire, in the gas ovens.

My recipe for new potatoes with baked garlic

To prepare new potatoes with baked garlic, I needed the following ingredients:

  • 7-8 new medium-sized potatoes
  • a garlic hat
  • 3 tablespoons oil
  • salt
  • spice for french fries. I don't put this spice all the time, but this time I put it on.

It is very easy to prepare, as you can see. Peel a squash, grate it and slice it thinly. Put in a bowl and mix with salt and spice, then pour into a pan in which the oil is already placed. Put the whole and clean garlic cloves over the potatoes, and then put them in the preheated oven and set at 200 degrees. Garlic will also get a sweet taste and will be very tasty. It took about 15 & # 8211 20 minutes until they were ready. They were delicious, and I'm surprised I got to take a picture of them :)).
